We are always looking for volunteers to help us in our rescue. As a foster based rescue, we don't have a shelter but we do have a need for a lot of people to help us help our animals! Volunteer opportunities range from supporting our fundraisers and events by creating and obtaining donation baskets and items, handling animals at events, selling tickets, spreading the word through social media or by flyer distribution in local areas, transporting animals to events or to the vet for appointments and data entry. From time to time we will have meetings and training opportunities. .Another much needed role is locating and helping us apply for grants. The volunteer will work with the rescue to solicit applications, fill them out and send in all applicable information to the grant office to try to win grants for FMNAR. If you are interested in fostering an animal, please fill out the foster application below.
FostersTo be a successful foster parent, you will need a compassionate nature, the cooperation of your family or roommates, flexibility, and some knowledge of animal behavior. You also must understand that there is a possibility that the foster pet may or may not be adopted. The length of time a foster pet may stay in your home varies with the animal’s situation. Foster parents are a critical part of our program at FMNAR. Fostering saves animals from hardship and the stress of the shelter environment. Without our dedicated foster parents, we would not be able to offer these animals a seond chance at finding their forever family. While fostering requires time and patience, the rewards are immeasurable. You will have the joy of knowing you have helped save an animals life and helped free up space at the shelter to help other homeless animals. Watching your foster blossom in your care and eventually go to their forever home is truly an amazing experience. We pay the costs...you provide the love.
